Atmos Energy crews and contractors will oversee a controlled release of natural gas on Wednesday, July 18 beginning at approximately 8 a.m. near Pipeline Road and Eunice Street, barring any unforeseen circumstances. Contractors have replaced a section of natural gas pipeline along Pipeline Road as part of normal, routine maintenance and will be connecting existing pipeline to the new section. This is a standard industry practice to safely remove natural gas from a specific section of pipeline so employees can work on the pipe. People in the area may notice moderate noise for approximately three to four hours. Atmos Energy employees will be on-site to monitor the process as natural gas is vented into the atmosphere. If you have any concerns, please call Atmos Energy's customer service number at 1-888-286-6700.
