Hurst Library Teen ZoneYA Services at Hurst Public Library is dedicated to serving teens in middle, junior, and high schools in the community with their particular need for information, reading materials (leisure or academic), and recreational and cultural programs that meet their interests.

The Teen Zone 

a space for teens & young adults in grades 6-12.

  • holds the library's Young Adult (YA) Collection, including the Texas Lone Star Reading List, fiction books in print and audio formats, and Graphic Novels
  • This separate space is specifically designed for teens and their social needs and unique characteristics.
  • There are computers with Internet access, an XBox (and games), and group study areas.
  • The Teen Zone and any activities and programs that take place in it are designed exclusively for this age group
    (no other patrons or programs will be accommodated in this area)

Teen Innovation Panel (TIP)

Teen Innovation Panel
Teens ages 14-18 can earn volunteer hours for school by planning teen programs, contributing ideas to the library's collection, and helping to make the library more teen friendly. An application is required to join. TIP Meetings are on the third Thursday of each month.

Cover2Cover - Teen Book Club
COVERIICOVER
We'll discuss a new topic rather than a specific title. Just pick up our suggested reading list for the month (you'll find copies of it in the Teen Zone), and check the Library's Calendar of Events for an upcoming Cover2Cover event.
Fanime Club
FANIME CLUB
Whether you're new to Japanese animation or a long-time fan, join your fellow otaku the fourth Thursday of every month as we watch anime, read manga, and celebrate Japanese culture.
Teen Night
TEEN NIGHT
Join us the first Thursday of the month. It's different every time! Check the Library's Calendar of Events for information about what the next Teen Night is all about.
