The City Secretary's Office is responsible for conducting municipal elections as prescribed by the Election Code of the State of Texas and the City Charter.
The general election to elect officers of the City is held on the first Saturday in May of each year.
Future Local Elections
May 2020 - Elect Councilmembers to Place 3 (Mayor), Place 4, Place 5 and Place 7.
May 2021 - Elect Councilmembers to Place 1, Place 2 and Place 6.
The City of Hurst election day polling location is typically the Hurst Public Library at 901 Precinct Line Road, Hurst (subject to change pursuant to Tarrant County Elections Administration contract.)
Resolution 1764 Postponing May 2, 2020 General Election
Due to the coronavirus pandemic and state and local emergency declarations to help stop the spread of the disease, the City of Hurst City Council adopted Resolution 1764 to postpone the May 2, 2020 General Election to the November 3, 2020 uniform election date or an earlier date if authorized by the Governor of the State of Texas and the Texas Secretary of State.
