Alan Heaton grew up in central Pennsylvania, along with his parents and two siblings. At the age of 18 he joined the U.S. Navy and served for 22 years with the Naval Construction Force, known as the “Seabees”. Following active duty, while majoring in accounting, Alan completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration at Youngstown State University in Ohio. Upon completing his studies, Alan married his college sweetheart Maureen. Alan and Maureen subsequently moved to the DFW area of Texas in 1984. While working and raising his family, Alan went back to school and earned a MBA from the University of Texas at Arlington. He has worked for various retailers throughout the metroplex in their accounting departments and served as the Financial Coordinator for the Hurst Conference Center when they first opened its doors. Alan is now retired full time and enjoys woodworking and volunteering with 6 Stones Mission Network when he is not visiting his three children and seven grandchildren, who currently live in various cities throughout Texas. He looks forward to helping the city to reach the goals they set forth each year. |
