In the spring, the Hurst City Council and Library & Cultural Enrichment Board proudly approved the latest phase of the Utility Box Art Project, adding even more color and character to our city streets. This time, twelve talented artists were selected to showcase the theme “Pets and Wildlife of Hurst,” transforming everyday utility boxes into vibrant works of art highlighting the animals that make our community special.
From playful dogs and curious cats to fluttering monarch butterflies, bright cardinals, and watchful owls, these new designs beautifully capture the rich tapestry of wildlife and beloved pets that share our city. You’ll even spot HEB ISD’s first on-campus comfort dog, Baxter, bringing his signature warmth to the streets of Hurst.
This latest installment brings the total number of art-wrapped utility boxes to 40 across Hurst, turning ordinary infrastructure into delightful destinations. A map and stories behind each artist’s creation will soon be available on our website, inviting residents and visitors alike to explore these unique pieces scattered throughout the city.
The Utility Box Art Project is more than just beautification—it celebrates Hurst’s vibrant spirit, creativity, and the special bonds we share with the animals around us. As you travel through Hurst, keep an eye out for these charming additions that are sure to make you smile!
