The City of Hurst is offering residents an ambulance subscription service to help offset the costs of emergency ambulance transportation. Insurance companies routinely do not pay the entire amount of ambulance transportation, leaving the patient responsible for paying the bill's balance. The purpose of the subscription service is to cover the amount not covered by your insurance provider or Medicare. If a person does not have health care insurance, this program covers emergency medical services delivered prior to hospital arrival. An average ambulance transport can cost anywhere from $1,400 or greater. The 2026 ambulance subscription year cost is $75 per household. We are continuing to strive to offer the most affordable prices for our residents, while continuing with an excellence in patient care. Medicaid recipients are not eligible for this program. Ambulance Subscription Service enrollment is open until December 31, 2025.
