Wellness is a state of complete effort and focus towards a balanced and healthy life. The World Health Organization defines it as "...a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." 1

Here in Hurst we desire to continue a culture of wellness for our citizens and our employees to build a quality of life city. Support starts with our leadership and participation is highly encouraged for everyone. As part of our robust benefits program we offer a full service wellness program focused on physical, mental and emotional health.

Physical:
One-on-one assistance from the wellness coordinator is available to address nutrition, physical activity, biometric and health needs for employees and their families. With year round contests, education and incentives, the wellness program offers something for everyone and looks forward to helping you.

Mental:
Everyone knows that life can be stressful and challenging at times, so having support is essential to the success of the individual and thereby the City. The wellness program offers stress management assistance, addiction assistance and referral resources for anything outside of what we can directly provide.

Emotional:
Sometimes you need a listening ear, sometimes you need a coach, and other times you might need to seek specialized or deeper help for the situations you face. We strive to offer professional and confidential assistance for anything you might face through our benefit resources and referral resources. The first step is to ask for help. We will be with you to offer assistance and a helping hand any way we can.
